Comments / Thoughts / What You Learned / Challenges: I have been trying to schedule appointments with clients on my own, and plan out my days without the help of my preceptor. Something that I have found really challenging is making sure my day is filled with assignments so that there is not too much down time. It is really up to the clients whether or not they come in, so booking appointments with clients who are due for reassessment can be challenging. Then even when appointments are scheduled, a lot of clients do not show up. However, I have found ways to fill my day – examples include creating handouts for clients that pertain to foods and services offered to them, and watching movies/documentaries about the HIV/AIDs epidemic. These videos have given me a lot of insight about how the outbreak began and how it has impacted this community.
