Comments / Thoughts / What You Learned / Challenges: I met with my preceptor and the other graduate student involved in this research project – a systematic literature review looking at disparities in health care access amongst Latinos. We went over what had been done so far and what needed to be done going forward, as well as my role in the project.

I was sent materials to review that would help me better understand what we had discussed in our initial meeting. This included two articles on systematic reviews (“Latino Adults’ Access to Mental Health Care: A Review of Epidemiological Studies” and “Methods for Conducting Systematic Reviews of the Evidence of Effectiveness and Economic Efficiency of Interventions to Promote Healthy Social Environments”), and the data abstraction form that I would be using for this systematic literature review.
