Week 27 – Clinical – Dialysis Center

Activities / Assignments:

  • Counseled patients on proper fluid maintenance
  • Attended mental health seminar

Comments / Thoughts / What You Learned / Challenges: I rounded with the medical director of the facility, and we went over fluids with the patients. We used their information from the past month to determine how badly they needed a fluid maintenance review. I gave everyone a fluid maintenance handout and spent a little extra time with the people whose gains between sessions were the greatest.

I had the opportunity to attend a mental health seminar, which was really interesting and helpful for both professional use and personal use.
